I am on my second pregnancy and was looking forward to glowing acne free skin, but instead I got the opposite. After complaining to a girlfriend one day about how bad my skin was breaking out, she told me that she used M.D Forte. Another girlfriend had mentioned it before, but I couldn't remember the name, so I asked about it again and sure enough after her recommendation as well I decided to try the product. I've been using it now for about 4 months and I am pleased with the results. My face is clear and smooth and I have my glow. It's really hard as an african american woman to find skin care products that work for our skin type. I have been sharing how wonderful this face wash is with others who are or know someone that's suffering from acne. So glad I decided to listen and give this product a chance.

A great product

My dermatologist recommended this product fifteen years ago. I have been using it ever since. I was prone to break-outs and at the time my skin was sensitive to many products. This product leaves my skin clean and soft without irritating. It is a glycolic cleanser and I think has helped prevent wrinkles over the years. I would highly recommend this product.

“
Natural solution for acne

I've tried everything except Accutane for adult acne, but this product cleared my very blemished skin within two weeks. It didn't cause dryness or peeling, and it only stung a little for the first three days. In addition, it's based in natural ingredients like sugar cane. I don't know why all the dermatologists I saw never recommended it. They swore by Differin for me and my teenager, but we both got the same results: burned, peeling skin with acne.
M. D. Forte Cleanser II (I is so low in glycolic it doesn't really work) plus their Lotion have eliminated both my and my teenagers' acne (I just started my younger teenager on it, and in just a few weeks it's working, doesn't burn, etc.). We start by rinsing the face with warm water to open pores and then put the cleanser on the face for half a minute and then rinse off. The lotion is stronger and stays on, so we use it once in a while for spots that come up or in place of the cleanser if we can't fit it into travel bags (the lotion is airline-carry-on size, 2 oz.).
We also switch things up with the Rejuvenation Hydra-Masque which is effective for the acne and soothing for the skin overall.
Be sure to use a sunblock with at least 7 percent zinc oxide or titanium dioxide in it. All the other sunblock chemicals out there break down in the sun and end up being useless. This product takes off old skin cells, oils, and dirt and opens pores, so your skin will be sensitive to the sun.

The Perfect Cleanser

I like to use this one at night. It really "takes the day off" - all traces of makeup, flaky skin, etc., leaving it smooth, soft and never dry or stripped. It gets your skin deep down clean without the harsh effects of most cleansers that are this efficient. I wouldn't use anything else.

My HG Cleanser

I have been using this now for about 8 years. Occasionally I will try something else, but end up regretting it and always come back to this. I developed acne in my early 20's and nothing would work, then from reading a lot of advice was drawn to this product. This has been a wonder cleanser for me, my skin cleared up within a month, and it just feels so lovely and smooth. I still do get bad skin days during that time of the month but nothing like what it used to be like. This cleanser has a smooth consistency and you only need a small amount to cleanse your entire face and neck. Highly recommend this cleanser to all. Great value for money also.

MD Forte products are effective and not over the top in price. I've used them off and on for years and always come back. This product along, along with the cleanser, have really stopped my breakouts on my chin (which I was going to the derm almost every month for an injection for and they mentioned accutane to help control? You kidding me!!!) This combo is perfect for my aging(35), combo skin type. I just recently did the whole Obagi deal and although retinol is effective, the whole thing was way too harsh for me. Give this a try, you will LOVE!

A life changing product for me. So easy to apply and the most effective product I've used to control acne ever. Prior to using MD Forte II I would experience frequent breakouts, dry/oily skin, and uneven skin tones. Since using this product all have improved to the point I almost forget the way things use to be. I would highly recommend this product to even those looking to improve flawless skin, it's that great.

This product was recommended to me for adult acne, and after reading such positive reviews, I ordered it. After the first use, my skin felt greasy, and looked shiny throughout the day. I tried it for a week, same feeling. ALSO, I broke out even more. Sorry to say that this product didn't help me at all.

My only cleanser for the past five years

I first reviewed this product in 2006 after six months of use, and am older chronologically than many of the other reviewers here. This is the best and only facial cleanser I've used every night for the past five years, after I switched over from Sisley (then $60 for same amount) . Have never had a stray zit on chin or forehead, which can plague women at both ends of the age spectrum. Friends and strangers often compliment me on my skin, and when I tell them I'm 60, they are stunned. There are some reviews here by customers who say they "use a lot of makeup". Frankly, the older I get the less I use (just Bare Minerals), because my skin looks so fresh. Heavy make-up is unnecessary on skin that's well cared-for. And on older women, it just accentuates the negatives.

I wanted to love this product because of so many wonderful reviews. But after using it for around 2 months it just broke out my face. I mainly got clogged pores after using this. It didn't really feel like I was getting a good clean. I tried it two different ways I read about. 1. W/o water and 2. W/water. But I guess for my skin type it wasn't suitable.

I'm 38year old esthetician with reactive,couperose, oily, blackhead prone skin. I started using MD Forte about 5 years ago and was extremely happy with it. Last year I switched over to Obagi, results were good but EXPENSIVE. I now use MD Forte combined with .05% Tretinoin every other night and it looks and feels better than it did on Obagi(for a fraction of the price). My skin looks flawless. Oh and I also use Youngblood mineral cosmetics which I highly recommend, far superior to BM and coverage is unparalleled!

I've tried plenty of different types of cleanser from philosphy, skinceutical, SkinMEdica..ect.. and i always return to this one. Feels great, doesn't dry, refines, helps with scars and helps reduce pimples! The only negative i would say is i wish it would remove more of my makeup. I wash twice, because i wear a lot of makeup. And the bottle last a very long time.

A Fine Alternative to Jan Marini's Bioglycolic Cleanser...

I had been using the Jan Marini Bioglycolic cleanser for a few months, which has 12% glycolic in it. I wanted to advance to a 15% amount, so I went with MD Forte Cleanser II based on the amount of positive reviews. I have been using it for a few days now and really like it. Even though the % of glycolic is a little higher, this seems to be more gentle to the skin than the Jan Marini cleanser, yet works just as well, if not better. Leaves skin as soft and as smooth as can be. Pores look flawless. Look forward to trying Cleanser III at some point down the road. I take away a half star as I wish it had a pump to dispense product.

i've been moving around from one big city to the next over the past 1.5 years, and as a result my skin didn't take to well to the constant envriomental changes. i had pretty bad acne in the cheeks that wouldn't go away, and big pop ups here and there. i've gotten cream from my dr, tried birth control, and even retin-a for a while (which worked a little, but irritated my skin from time to time). i was starting to think all hope was gone because the acne had ravaged my skin and left it looking dull, and old looking. i was recommended md forte by my dentist, and within just 4 weeks the improvements have been more than stellar. i no longer have any new breakouts, the elasticity of my skin has improved dramatically, and my skin is smooth. i just have some red marks left over, but they are fading fast. i definitely forsee putting away all my foundation and coverup within the next month or two. GREAT product, and definitely worth a try.
